Overview
Polyvine Heavy Duty Wood Varnish is a water-based, ultra-hard, high-quality finish that dries to a crystal film on interior surfaces. Formulated for working surfaces and areas of high wear which require a high level of protection making it ideal for use on tables, bookshelves, chairs, desks, kitchen cabinets, and work surfaces. It offers a high level of heat, water, chemical, and abrasion resistance so it will withstand heavy wear. This fast-drying product will cure in as little as 16 hours making it great for busy homes, hotels, restaurants, and bars.

Preparation
Ensure the surface is clean and free from grease, wax and polish.
- Use sugar soap to clean the surface, rinse well with water and allow to dry.
- Wooden floors should be sanded with an industrial sander.
- Newly painted wood should be lightly sanded to provide a key
- Old, unsound finishes should be completely removed using a suitable .
- A stain sealer may be required on emulsion/latex paint finishes to ensure stains will not be visible.
Note: Do not apply Polyvine Heavy Duty Wood Varnish over uncured oils
Application
Always try the varnish on a test patch before embarking on the project to ensure you are happy with the finished results. Do not use in temperatures below 5°C, cooler temperatures will slow the final cure time
- Ensure the product is well mixed.
- Apply using a brush, sprayer or roller.
- Where possible apply in the direction of the wood grain.
- Allow to dry for 2 hours.
- Apply 2-3 coats, light sanding in between coats may be necessary, if there is any raising of the grain.
- Allow the final coat to dry for 16 hours before use.
Tip: For a high level of protection and stain resistance apply 2 coats of satin, then 1 coat of dead flat
